Each personal computer or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software that communicates with the computer hardware, including peripheral devices such as a mouse or a printer, together with any apps that are installed on the system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a server, every single application runs within the parameters specified by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etc. This is valid for both standard site scripts and server-side software such as a media server. When a virtual server is created on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, called guest OS and host OS, so that you can set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

Our VPS server packages include three Linux releases that you could choose from for the Operating System of your new web server - Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS. In addition to being 100 % free, the OSs are very stable and safe and the reason to offer all 3 of them is to make sure that you will be able to run each app that you would like, as different pieces of software could have different requirements when it comes to the environment they work on. Each of the three OSs is backed by a large community of developers who have generated thousands of software packages that you can install and use on your VPS. Depending on the Operating System which you choose, you will also be able to choose between three different Control Panels to manage your hosting content. Of course, in case you decide that you need another OS, we can always re-install the server with it. As an additional upgrade, we also offer weekly updates of the Operating System for max stability and security.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

The dedicated server packages that we offer come with three different Operating Systems to choose from. They are all Linux release - Ubuntu, CentOS and Debian, and not only do they have no license charges, but they are also regarded as the most stable and secure OSs. We offer three different ones for the reason that each one of them is backed by a different community. The packages that you can add on your hosting server are different and this could matter in case you want to install some piece of software with particular requirements for the hosting environment. In this light, the hosting Control Panel which you can select for the dedicated server also depends on the OS that you will choose. You can pick any of the three Operating Systems throughout the order procedure, yet if needed, we can always set up the server once again with another one upon your request. As an additional service that you could add to the plan at any time, we can update the OS on a regular basis to keep it as secure as possible.
